Three years after hitting pause on plans to redevelop his popular Grand Avenue restaurants, restaurateur Peter Kanefick has teamed with Minneapolis developer Reuter Walton on a new proposal — a 4 1/2-story apartment building that incorporates Saji-Ya and Emmett’s Public House, but not Dixie’s on Grand. The latest proposal include threes spaces earmarked for restaurants or retail, though only two of the existing three eateries would be coming back post-construction. The apartment building would include 81 units, averaging 900 square feet apiece, with at-grade and below-grade parking.
